The Basics

The best place to start is with a basic understanding of how your car’s engine works. At the base of your engine are numerous small and large metal parts. Each of these parts has a purpose that, combined, makes your engine function. As these parts operate they slide, grind, and bump into each other at high speeds and often under high pressure.

As you can imagine, metal grinding against metal at high speed is going to destroy your engine. When this action occurs, friction quickly builds up leading to an increase in temperatures and small parts of each parts being scraped away from each other.

All of this happens as soon as you start your engine…unless you have a product that protected each of these parts as they operated. Enter your engine oil!

Your engine oil makes its way through and around each and every part of your engine, coating each surface with a thin and slippery film. With this barrier in place, instead of grinding against each other, each engine parts operate smoothly and without friction.

However, while it is cheaper upfront, the inferior protection it provides results in additional replacements and engine damage.
